This page pulls together data from many sources, focussed on residents aged 65+ to support the Age Friendly Plan.  Much of the data can be accessed within the Hillingdon Datahub, where you can:

Data is organised in graphical format (ie population pyramid graph), tables or infographics.  Most of the data is at borough level (and compared to London and England as necessary); you can also view ward related population data by selecting a ward from the map on the Datahub home page.


Population
This section on the Datahub contains:
– 5-year age bands (male and female)
– single year of age (male and female)
– population of those aged 65+ and 90+
– population projections (5-year age bands)

Health & Social Care
This section on the Datahub contains:
– life expectancy, healthy life expectancy and disability-free life expectancy (male and female)
– mortality considered preventable

Projecting Older People Population Information (POPPI) – users will need to register for an account:
From the Institute of Public Care at Oxford Brookes University, the system provides population data by age band, gender, ethnic group, and tenure, for English local authorities and regions. Calculations are applied to population figures to estimate projected numbers of older people by; those living alone, living in care homes, provision of unpaid care, their ability to carry out domestic tasks and self-care.

Prevalence rates from research have been used to estimate the impact of limiting long term illness, depression, severe depression, dementia, heart attack, stroke, bronchitis\emphysema, falls, continence, visual impairment, hearing impairment, mobility, obesity, diabetes and learning disability including Down’s syndrome and autistic spectrum disorders (ASD).
